The idea behind the title is that each of us is looking for a marriage partner who will make us feel good. That is what we do all through the traditional dating process. In other words, each one of us is like a “flea” looking for the perfect “dog” who will provide us with everything we need. Much to our shock and surprise, after we get married we discover that the person we married is also a flea and there is no dog from which to suck the life.
